A guide to enjoying Ireland despite having Food Allergies and/or Intolerances
Thou-Shalt-Not
Below is a helpful list of foods to avoid and foods to be aware of according to specific food intolerances and allergies. These lists are not inclusive as they are only meant as a guide. Always remember to read every label as unsuspected ingredients are VERY common especially in heavily processed foods. It is also important to note that product ingredients are subject to, and do, change frequently. For this reason it is important to regularly read the ingredients list on familiar products as well as new products for intolerant foods.

Exceptions to the Above:

For those not suffering from Candida and are only excluding actual yeast from their diets please note that fresh fruits and sugars can be eaten but where the fruit has a 'haze' on the skin before washing (mainly on grapes and plums) that this is actually yeast formation which grows on the surface. The yeast can be removed by washing well. Similarly mushrooms will need to be washed/peeled and dried fruit should be avoided altogether as the yeast cannot be 'washed' off understandably enough.
